I tested some of Tummy Store’s cloth period panties as I have been a fan of cloth period products ever since I had my son (who also wore cloth diapers). I have tried many different brands, from bargain basement to premium.
Tummy Store’s cloth period panties are beautifully soft, as they are organic bamboo. I tried both the full coverage and lighter coverage underwear and found them both equally comfortable, as I have a c section scar that still does not like having low cut underwear sitting on it!
The absorbency was excellent, amongst the best that I have tried. A lot of friends have asked me about two things: Do they not smell and how do you wash them?
1- No they do not smell at all. I actually find disposable pads (and diapers!) have a very strong chemical smell, cloth protection does not have this. TUMMY products are also infused with Indian herbs to offset any discomfort you may have with your period, and I find cloth in general has actually helped with any period pains I used to get.

They are very easy to wash, rinse out first, cool wash and then dry. Importantly, not in direct sunlight.

I was given these to try, but I would happily purchase them when it is time for me to replenish my current cloth supply (which is coming soon!). It is so lovely to see a local, female led brand. Not just a distributor, but a from scratch designed product specifically for women, by a woman, using years of knowledge and combining modern innovation with centuries old practice.
I also think that these period panties would be fantastic for popping in the school bags of pre-teen and teenage daughters. They can either be used as a main source of protection, or as a backup with a tampon (avoiding the dreaded leak on those heavy days!) or disposable pad.
